How to use this chart
Each keyboard shows the chord in root position with its notes written underneath. Play the notes together with your right hand, fingers 1, 3 and 5 for the three-note chords and 1, 2, 3 and 5 for the sevenths. Tap any chord on screen to open it, hear it and see its inversions.
The rows run in the order of the musical alphabet with the sharps and flats last, so the chords you'll use first (C, D, E, F, G, A, B) sit at the top. Each key has one usual spelling here (E♭, not D♯); the other name is the same chord.

A week with this chart
- Day 1: the all-white-key chords. Right hand, fingers 1-3-5, one chord per beat.
- Day 2: the one-black-key chords. Notice D, E and A share a shape: white, black, white.
- Day 3: the same chords in the left hand, an octave lower.
- Day 4: the seventh columns. Add the fourth note with finger 5 and move 3 to the middle note.
- Day 5 to 7: pick a key and play its four columns, then walk the roots up the chart.
Printing tips
Landscape fits the whole chart on one Letter or A4 page. Propped on the music desk above the keys, it works as a quick reminder while you play. Choose "Save as PDF" in the print dialog for a copy on a tablet; the site's menus and buttons are left off the printout.
What to learn next
Pick the four chords of one key and practice changing between them: in G that's G, C, D, Em. The beginner piano chords page gives an order that's kind to your fingers, and every chord's own page shows alternatives when a shape is hard. Also printable: guitar chord chart and ukulele chord chart.
Every chart is generated from the same engine as the chord pages. Updated September 2026.
