How to play Adim7 on ukulele
Shape 1, 2-3-2-3, reading from the G string on the left, starts at the 2nd fret:
- A: index finger, 2nd fret of the G string.
- G♭: middle finger, 2nd fret of the E string.
- E♭: ring finger, 3rd fret of the C string.
- C: pinky finger, 3rd fret of the A string.
- This shape uses your pinky. It feels weak at first; press with the tip and let the finger stay curved.
- On ukulele you strum all four strings. The top G string is tuned higher than the C, which is why ukulele chords sound bright and close.

- 5-6-5-6: movable shape at the 5th fret, medium. Same notes, stacked differently, so it sounds a little different.
- 8-9-8-9: movable shape at the 8th fret, medium. A high voicing for when the low version is taken by another instrument.
- 11-12-11-12: movable shape at the 11th fret, medium. Up the neck the chord gets thinner and brighter, a good contrast to the open version.

- B♭m (leads up a half step): Adim7 (2-3-2-3) to B♭m (3-1-1-1): the index finger goes to the C string, 1st fret, the middle finger goes to the E string, 1st fret, your ring finger lands on the A string, 1st fret. No finger can stay, so practice lifting all of them together and landing the new shape as a unit. B♭m on ukulele
- D (a fifth down): Adim7 (2-3-2-3) to D (2-2-2-0): your index finger stays put, the middle finger slides across to the C string at the same fret, your ring finger lands on the E string, 2nd fret. The two chords share A and G♭, which is why the change sounds smooth. D on ukulele
